Spinnerette -- Steampunk Spider Wirework Wall Hanging

"Will you walk into my parlor?" said the spider to the fly;
"'Tis the prettiest little parlor that ever you did spy.
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many pretty things to show when you are there."
(From "The Spider and the Fly" by Mary Howitt)

Spinnerette the Steampunk Spider hangs delicately from her woven wire web, contemplating the red howlite "fly" that's about to be her lunch.  I constructed her body from hand-woven copper and the innards of an antique watch; if you look closely, you can even see the ruby jewels that once helped the watch run smoothly.

I wove her web by hand from fine copper wire, antiqued to a dark patina with hints of blue verdigris, and added decorative gears and swirls.  I topped her fan with Victorian-inspired scrollwork and added a sturdy hanger so that she can sit securely on a wall.

The entire sculpture measures approximately 8 inches from the top of the web to the bottom stone, and approximately 9 inches across at the widest point.  She's the perfect size to hang from a wall, or to use as a hand fan in steampunk cosplay.

Spinnerette is ready for shipment; she'll be sent to you within 3 business days of your purchase.
